The company was founded in 1983 under the legal form of OE from 3 brothers: John, Evangelos and George Peristeraki. Originally the store was based in a leased space in the center of Plakias, where they remained until 1994, when they moved in owned facilities of 500sq.m with modern equipment. In 1999 the company changed its legal form and was renamed in "ΑΦΟΙ ΠΕΡΙΣΤΕΡΑΚΗ Α.Ε". In 2012 a program was implemented for the expansion of the facilities, interior renovation and equipment upgrade to meet the current and future needs. The Super Market Αφοί Περιστεράκη, over the years, worked with several cooperatives in order to achieve competitive prices and superior services. The first collaboration was with the Cooperative Ariadne and afterwards the Cooperative IN.KA, which is still preserved. The company, with respect to the Greek consumer, provides quality products at low prices, following a systematic policy of offers aimed at all consumers and particularly to vulnerable groups. Also, priority of Super Market Αφοί Περιστεράκη is to support the Cretan producers and the promotion of local products, which are of high quality and nutritional value.
